How AWEI prepares news and analysis
AWEI publishes this news and analysis section using an AI-assisted workflow. AWEI is the publishing organization; the byline does not identify a human reporter or imply first-hand reporting.
Publisher reports are the factual starting point
The workflow collects publisher reports, extracts their claims and prepares English summaries and articles. Each article links to the publisher sources used for that text. Those reports may themselves contain errors, omissions or changes. Attribution matters: a reported claim, a forecast and an established result are different things.
News and analysis serve different purposes
News articles explain the selected reports. Articles labelled Analysis combine existing AWEI reports and their sources to examine broader patterns, possible explanations, limits and alternative interpretations. Their original AWEI reports are linked separately. An interpretation is not independent evidence of a new event or a causal relationship.
Research notes guide questions, not new facts
The workflow can use a collection of emotion, motivation and research notes to suggest useful questions and an accessible explanation. A research idea is not evidence that a psychological mechanism occurred in the reported event. When a proposed framing does not fit the sources, the article can use factual analysis without that technique.
Checks and limitations
The current generation workflow includes automated checks and revision steps for source support, interpretation and presentation. These checks are fallible. An AI-compiled byline does not mean a human editor or an independent expert has verified every statement. Readers can follow the source links to assess the evidence and its limitations.
Dates and corrections
The publication date comes from the saved article record. Where available, a separate analysis date identifies when its material was analysed; it is not the date of the reported event. An updated date is shown only when a content update is recorded. Rebuilding this website does not make an article newly published.
